Hey all!
Today I want to talk to you about sleep. Of course, the basic spiel is that you need lots of sleep, it's important, etc. Although these reminders can be annoying, they are true. Instead of harping on about why you need sleep, I am going to talk about how to get that sleep. The first trick is to set your alarm clock a little bit later than it actually is. Then, every time you glance at your clock, you will be Reminded that it is late and that you should go to bed. Make sure that you don't don't say your clock too fast because then it will become unbelievable and you will not believe the time, which ruins the whole purpose. Something that I do to help myself fall asleep is set a time that I have to go to sleep every single night. This way I can prepare myself for that time and make sure I get everything done with enough time to fall asleep. I also like to listen to music as I fall asleep. I usually listen to soft Indie music or another kind of calming/soothing genre. It lets me forget about the day and drift off into Dreamland. Something else that could be really fun to do is just imagine another world, scenario, life. You could lose yourself in a different universe and Drift Off to Dream about that land. Some other techniques to fall asleep if you're stressed are:
1) Rub your earlobes, head, or feet to circulate blood and energy around your body
2) Squeeze every section of your body and release them one at a time
3) Make a plan for the next day (ex. what to wear, what to eat...)
I also like to check all of my email and social media before going to bed, and then turn them off completely so I know that I have nothing else to do and can relax without the annoying pinging of text conversations. All and all, maybe the most important it is to just make sure that you get to bed at a suitable time so that you can get the maximum amount of sleep to boost your energy and happiness level the next day.
